  1. Q: How does your company define a "non-commercial" flying club?

A: A non-commercial flying club is defined as being one or more aircraft owned equally by more than five individuals, operating under by-laws, and being used for personal (non-commercial) and not-for-profit use (see policy for definition of "commercial use"). Avemco is a primary insurer of non-commercial flying clubs in the United States.

  5. Q: What is the highest limit of liability coverage Avemco provides for a flying club?

A: The highest liability limit Avemco will provide for flying clubs $100,000 Per Person Bodily Injury, $1,000,000 Property Damage and $1,000,000 per occurrence. If a flying club member would like higher limits of liability coverage, the member may individually purchase a non-owned aircraft policy. The non-owned aircraft policy would be excess coverage over and above the coverage provided by the flying club policy limits.
